Jamie Matheson is the Executive Chairman of Brewin Dolphin Holdings plc. Prior to becoming Executive Chairman Jamie was a Glasgow director of the Bell Lawrie division of the Group and was responsible at Board level for the Group`s Corporate Broking activities. He started his career in 1972 at Parsons & Co and remained with that firm through its various evolutionary stages until January 1996 when he joined the Group. He was a non-executive director of Scottish Radio Holdings plc from 2000 until its recent takeover by EMAP and is currently a non-executive director of AIM VCT2 plc. He is a past Deacon of the Bonnetmakers and Dyers of Glasgow and Ex-Precis of the Grand Antiquity Society of Glasgow.

Matthew joined Brewin Dolphin in October 2004 as Head of Fund Research, responsible for long-only fund research and alternative investments. Prior to joining Brewin Dolphin, Matthew was responsible for fund selection within the strategic investment group at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. Matthew holds an MA in history from Cambridge University and is a CAIA charter holder.

Charlotte Black is Corporate Affairs Director at Brewin Dolphin having been Marketing Director since 1992.  Charlotte joined the Brewin Dolphin Group in 1987 and is a member of the company’s Executive Committee. She is also a Director of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and was a Non Executive Director of Euroclear PLC from 2002 - 2007 and a Director of CRESTCo Limited from 1996 to 2002. She is a member of several Advisory Committees in the City including the Scottish Financial Enterprise Advisory Board; the Euroclear Cross Border Market Advisory Committee (XMAC); the APCIMS Retail Markets Committee and the T2S AG at the ECB.
Charlotte Black was a Westminster Parliamentary Candidate in 1997.

Graduating with a PHD in economics from the London School of Economics, Mike Lenhoff started his career path in an economics forecasting consultancy business. In 1985 he joined Capel Cure Myers as a portfolio strategist. By the end of the 1990’s Mike was Head of Research at Capel Cure Sharp, later part of the Gerrard Group. He left Gerrards in 2002 to join Brewin Dolphin before the parent company Old Mutual sold Gerrard to Barclays Bank. Mike’s forecasting abilities have served him well and he makes frequent contributions to the financial press and regular guest appearances on CNN, CNBC and Bloomberg. Mike is the prime mover of the Group’s macro economic forecasting and its financial markets analysis.

Before joining the financial world John served in the Royal Navy in the rank of Lieutenant-Commander, having studied at the Royal Naval Engineering College Manadon, Plymouth and at Brighton University. He has a BSc in Electronic Engineering and became a Chartered Electrical Engineer in 1982. On leaving the Service he attended Edinburgh University Business School from which he graduated MBA in 1995.In December 2007, John joined Brewin Dolphin as Head of Investment Companies Research, before which he ran his own managed funds consultancy, Newlands Fund Research. Prior to that he was Investment Companies Analyst at the London stockbroking firm of Williams de Broë Plc.

John is a member of the Association of Investment Companies (AIC)`s Statistics Committee and of the Money Marketing/IFA (UK) financial panel. He has also written a number of books and reports about the managed funds sector including ‘Put Not Your Trust in Money’, the official history of the UK investment trust industry, published in 1997 and company histories of Foreign & Colonial, Murray International and Witan Pacific Investment Trusts and of Aberdeen Asset Management.

Ruth joined the company in 2011 and works with the charity teams across the UK. Prior to joing, Ruth spent 12 years at Newton Investment Management Ltd. Her two previous roles were as Development Manager for the disability charity Scope, followed by eight years as Director of Charity Services at the Charities Aid Foundation. Ruth holds a BA and various postgraduate qualifications; is a committee member of the Charity Investors' Group; a trustee of a grantmaking charitable trust; and a member of a church PCC and finance commitee.

John’s expertise is in the area of holistic financial planning, which incorporates investment, retirement, school fees and estate planning advice.
