Award success at Brewin Dolphin, Birmingham

5 June 2007

The Birmingham office of Brewin Dolphin Securities, the largest independent private client portfolio manger is celebrating the success of one of their up and coming Investment Managers, Charlotte Wright, following her accolade by the Birmingham business community for outstanding achievement.

Charlotte was presented with the 2007 Birmingham Young Professional of the Year (BYPY) Financial Category Award, at a ceremony held at the International Convention Centre, having been short-listed from three finalists which included strong competition from both PriceWaterhouseCoopers & Deloittes.

BYPY was established in 2000 to recognise the individual achievements of members of the business community and is open to young professionals, aged under 35, who work in the professional and financial services sector within the Birmingham area.

2007 nominations were put forward covering six categories Communications, Entrepreneurial, Financial, Legal, Property & Construction, Recruitment and Training with the overall BYPY 2007 winner having been selected from the winners of the sector categories.

Charlotte who is 31 and married (nee Mitchell), lives on the Oakhalls, Bromsgrove: she is a former student of both Repton School, Derbyshire and Leicester Grammar School and has been part of Brewin Dolphin’s Birmingham team for over six years. She works within the Private Client portfolio management side of the business alongside Stephen Jones, Managing Director of the Birmingham office.

Commenting on her achievement, Charlotte said:
"I was delighted to accept the award and be recognised by the professional community including my peers. I believe that it is very important that the next generation of Birmingham professionals continue to build on the strong reputation and skills set available within the region."

"Personally, I am keen to continue to promote the region and its professional services sector. I believe that the City’s young professionals can make a difference by attracting home grown talent to stay in the region and develop their careers whilst also encouraging the young professionals to engage with and mentor those with fewer opportunities than us. It is important that all young people are given a chance to flourish as I have been able to under the guidance of Brewin Dolphin. Equally it is up to us to pass on that opportunity to others."

Stephen Jones, Managing Director of Brewin Dolphin Birmingham added:
"We are delighted at Charlotte’s success. This award from the business community recognises her commitment and hard work within the financial industry. It is a fantastic achievement for Charlotte, whilst also reflecting well on the team here at Brewins."
