New Office Head For Bell Lawrie Dundee

Ian MacDonald has been appointed head of office for Bell Lawrie Dundee, the leading private client investment manager. With effect from January, Ian will take over from David Stewart who is retiring from the company after seven years.
Ian joined Bell Lawrie in 2002 when his independent financial advisory company was acquired, bringing with him over 22 years experience in financial services. Prior to this, Ian was a professional footballer playing for Dundee, St Johnstone and Carlisle. During his football career as a centre half, he represented Scotland at Under 23 level and his personal highlight was scoring a goal against Manchester United in 1979.
David McCorkell, regional managing director for Scotland and Northern Ireland, said
“Ian has already proved that he is up to the job that lies ahead. This promotion reflects his longstanding commitment and contribution to Bell Lawrie. His vision will no doubt help drive forward the development of the Dundee office, integrating the financial and investment management services.”
Commenting on his promotion, Ian MacDonald said
“I am delighted to take up this role and am looking forward to the challenges it will bring. I am particularly keen that we make it as easy as possible for our intermediaries to operate in light of the new Markets in Financial Instruments Directive. In addition, we can strive to provide the highest level of service in both financial services and investment management to our clients throughout the Tayside area.”
Bell Lawrie, Dundee is also pleased to announce the promotions of Brian Rice in financial services and David Chalmers in investment management to divisional directors.
