Brewin Dolphin supports CAF National Giving Week
16 October 2006
Brewin Dolphin Securities, the UK’s largest independent portfolio manager, is a lead sponsor of the Charities Aid Foundation National Giving Week, which starts on 16th October 2006. The Brewin Dolphin Group provides Complete Investment Management services for private investors, charities and pension funds and manages at total of £19 billion of which £1.2 billion is on behalf of charity trustees.
Brewin Dolphin’s history can be traced back to the 18th century, since when it has continued to expand and now has 35 offices across the UK and the Channel Islands. We have over 1,500 employees throughout the UK and the Group already provides for payroll giving though Give As You Earn (GAYE). We will be sending a personal message to each member of staff about the campaign and will provide encouragement and support to any branches wishing to raise funds specifically within National Giving Week. The Group also sends a twice yearly message to its employees about all the benefits of GAYE and many members of staff are already enrolled in the scheme.
National Giving Week has been organised by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) in the hope of bringing together charities, companies and their employees and thousands of volunteers in order to raise awareness of payroll giving. The week will kick-start with a reception at the Barbican Centre EC1 and a celebrity ebay auction on Monday 16th October, which will be followed by the launch of the National Giving Week DVD, featuring Brewin Dolphin.
Stuart Fraser, a Director of the Brewin Dolphin Investment Management Division said:
For further information please contact:“National Giving Week is superb initiative to raise awareness of and give a fresh impetus to charitable giving at both national and local level. As advisers to many charities, my colleagues and I are acutely aware of the difficulty in balancing demands from those in need of help with a sustainable level of income from donors. Indeed many of us are also trustees so we appreciate the demands and the pressures trustees face in managing this balance. We very much hope this week will be a huge success in every respect”.
