John Cowmeadow (37) has been appointed Head of Business Development for the Brewin Dolphin Group, the largest independent private client portfolio manager in the UK managing £17 billion on behalf of more than 100,000 clients.

John Cowmeadow joined Bell Lawrie, the Scottish Division of Brewin Dolphin Securities in July 2002 as a Business Development Manager.  He brought 12 years of experience in financial services, including his time spent with The Royal Bank of Scotland and Newton Investment Management.  John is a graduate in Business Studies from Napier University and gained his Investment Management Certificate in 1998.  John was appointed Divisional Director in November 2003 and was responsible for marketing Private Investment Management services to intermediaries and charities throughout Scotland and Northern Ireland. He has recently been appointed Head of Business Development for the Brewin Dolphin Group and will head the new team recently appointed throughout the UK, to expand the distribution of the Group's Investment Management Services to professional intermediaries and charities from all its 35 offices in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
